Last month I wrote about trends in layoff benefits, and unfortunately the bad news has continued with folks like Meta, DoorDash, Kraken, and Elastic announcing cuts.
When the CEOs of these companies share their memos publicly, we can learn what companies are offering laid off employees.
I’ve updated my analysis where data is available and, taking inspiration from the very helpful layoffs.fyi, moved it from Google Sheets to an Airtable page you can easily access here.
Based on these CEO memos, here are some key layoff benefits trends in 2022:
Median severance pay is 14 weeks minimum, with most companies offering additional pay for tenure
Median healthcare coverage is 4 months, either through cash equivalent or COBRA
60% accelerated equity, with a median of approximately 4 weeks
46% provided immigration support, including consultations and transitions to non-employment visas where possible
20% provided mental health support
